At It All Begins Here Daycare, we believe that each child is unique, learns in their own countless ways and we understand that each child grows and develops at their own individual pace. It is important to us to develop a supportive environment in order to encourage the different stages of development for each child. Our Facility
Security System
Our building is secured with a security system that includes cameras at all entrances and exits. The main entrances to each classroom are equipped with security keypads that require a passcode for secured entry. Only parents and staff may use these to enter into the daycare.
Outdoor Playground
Our outdoor playground is one of our special treasures of the daycare! A newly renovated space, equipped with 2 separate grass play areas, large sand box and beautiful bike track. The children have free range to explore nature as well as expand their imaginations with our innovative outdoor programming that includes, sensory, physical activities and art. Our shed stores all our seasonal toys, which the children can use during their daily morning and afternoon playtime.
Indoor Gym
Our daycare has a spacious and bright indoor gym that is utilized on rainy and cold days so that the children are still able to enjoy physical activity! Our indoor gym is located on the second floor of the daycare and has large secured windows that allow the children to get fresh air. It is equipped with central heating and cooling, along with heated floors for the children who like to explore on the ground!
Our IABHD Team
It All Begins Here Daycare has selected some of the best Early Childhood Educators and Teaching Assistants to help support and educate your children. All of our ECE’s are registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Our teachers are trained in First Aid and CPR and have taken part in a York Region Behaviour Management course. At It All Begins Here Daycare, we ensure to uphold the highest standards when it comes to following the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Education and Public Health. We staff each classroom according to the CCEYA regulations. The ratios for each classroom are as followed, Infant 1:3, Toddler 1:5 and Preschool 1:8.
Our Programs
Infant Program
0 yrs to 18 months
Our Infant Program is our most flexible program where the children’s individual schedules are supported and their developmental milestones are nurtured. Our infant room provides care for children from 0 years to 18 months. The Infant room is equipped with developmentally appropriate toys and furniture that help foster the stages of each individual child’s development. The children are introduced to various learning opportunities when engaging in art, sensory and hands-on activities! Our teachers encourage the children to explore using their 5 senses. Gross motor and fine motor skills are continuously focused on in our Infant program. The infants participate in 2 hours of physical activity each day where they can enjoy the large outdoor playground. On the days that the weather does not permit for outdoor play, the infants will use our indoor gym. Our daycare is also equipped with a large 6-seater stroller for our teachers to take them neighbourhood walks!
Toddler Program
18 months to 30 months
Our Toddler Program is our transitional program where our teachers are encouraging and supporting the children in new experiences and learning opportunities! Our toddler room provides care for children between the ages of 18 months to 2 ½ years. Our Toddler room is equipped with developmentally appropriate materials to encourage and enhance all areas of their development. The children are also introduced to self-help skills such as drinking from an open cup, using food utensils and washing their hands at child size sinks. The children participate in 2 hours of physical activity each day either outside in the playground or inside in our indoor gym! The toddlers often go for nature walks around the neighbourhood!
Preschool Program
30 months to 6 years
Our Preschool Program is one of our more dynamic programs where our teachers are implementing a wide variety of activities to prepare our preschoolers for their future elementary school journey! Our preschool room provides care for children between the ages of 2 ½ years to 6 years old. Our preschool program goes hand and hand with the Ministry of Educations full-day kindergarten expectations. Through our play-based learning approach, each child’s individual needs are met and children are able to engage in various individual and group learning experiences, which are aimed to enhance all areas of their development. The children participate in 2 hours of physical activity each day, where the children can utilize the large outdoor play area – if weather permits – or the large spacious indoor gym!

How we use HiMama!
HiMama is our electronic daily report system! At It All Begins Here Daycare we use the HiMama app to keep our parents updated on the following:
- Parents are able to receive photos of their child or children in real time and all the fun activities throughout the day!
- The staff able to create thorough and comprehensive report about their child’s daily routines, whether they are eating, napping or playing.
- It is a great way to stay in touch with your child’s teachers throughout the day through the messaging centre if you have any questions, concerns or information to let the teachers know.
- HiMama also keeps a record of your child’s progress as they transition from classroom to classroom.
- As required per our new COVID-19 policies and procedures, parents are asked to message the daycare through the Messaging Centre as to when the arrive at drop off and pick-up times, as they report to their designated screening stations for daycare entry.
